13 Reasons To Live Even When Times Get Tough (From Personal Experience)

We all face difficulties in our lives. Some more than others. But at the end of the day, we have to find a reason to keep going. Otherwise, what’s the point? No matter how hard life gets, don’t forget that you’re not alone.
There are people who care about you and want to help you through whatever you’re going through. If you’re feeling down, talk to someone. Talk to a friend, a family member, or a therapist. Get whatever support you need to get through this tough time. And always remember, things will get better. You just have to hang in there.
13 Reasons to live

1. You’ve made it this far for a reason.
There are plenty of reasons to keep living. You made it so many years and why not see what life has to offer? The fact that you even see posts like this should be a reason to keep going. You could’ve easily chosen to give up and quit, but you’re still here, aren’t you? There’s a reason you’re still fighting and something you holding you back from wanting to give up, so don’t give up.
2. People love you.
There will always be times when you feel alone. These times are temporary though. It’s important to understand that even if you feel as though everyone around you hates you or you feel like a bother, these are just temporary feelings. If you feel as though you have no friends or family, then a good start could be to explore and meet new people. Try going to festivals, parties, or social gatherings where you could potentially meet lifelong friends. Something I tell myself when I feel like giving up is:
“There are people you haven’t even met yet that are counting on you, even if they don’t know it yet.”
3. You have control of your life.
From personal experience, I’ve been in situations where I felt stuck and powerless. The truth is, you have all the power to change your life. If you aren’t happy with your circumstances, start taking action to change your own life.
If you don’t like how you look then start by working out, dieting, trying new looks, new hairstyles, or something! If you don’t like your financial situation, then learn how to make money and create better habits to get you there. If you aren’t happy with the relationship you’re in and you know it’s not helping either of you, then have a serious talk about it and consider your options.
You have more power than you think. Something that’s helped me take control of my life was to change the person I believed myself to be into someone I could be proud of. Someone I could look up to and become someone I’d want in my life.
4. Emotions are temporary.

Emotions are often thought of as being negative or positive, but they are neither. They are simply feelings that come and go. It’s normal to feel sad, angry, anxious or overwhelmed at times. However, these emotions should not control your life. If you find yourself in a negative emotional state, remember that it is only temporary.
Don’t give up on yourself or your goals. These emotions will eventually pass. Focus on the positive things in your life and be patient. The negative emotions will eventually go away and you will be able to achieve your goals.
5. Today is a new day.
Every day provides an opportunity for a fresh start. No matter what might have happened yesterday – whether you had a terrible day at work, an argument with a friend, or simply didn’t get enough sleep – today is a new chance to set things right. You can wake up with a positive attitude, determined to make the most of the day.
You can approach every task and every interaction with a fresh perspective. And you can choose to let go of any negativity from the past, instead choosing to focus on the present moment. When you take advantage of today’s opportunity for a fresh start, each day can feel like a new beginning.
6. Every experience, good or bad, makes you stronger.
There’s an old saying that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And while it’s often used in a joking way, there’s actually a lot of truth to it. Every experience, good or bad, has the potential to make you stronger. Of course, bad experiences can leave you feeling battered and bruised. But if you can pick yourself up and dust yourself off, you’ll be that much stronger for it. Good experiences can also make you stronger. They can give you the confidence you need to take on new challenges and push yourself further than you ever thought possible. So whatever life throws your way, remember that every experience has the power to make you stronger.
7. One bad day, month, or even year does not equal a bad life.

We all have bad days. Days where everything seems to go wrong, no matter what we do. Maybe we wake up late, miss our train, and then spill coffee all over our new shirts. Or maybe we get a flat tire on the way to work, get scolded by our boss, and then come home to find that our dog has gotten into the trash. Whatever the specifics may be, we’ve all had those days where everything seems to be going wrong.
And sometimes, those bad days turn into bad months. Maybe we lose our job, get sick, or have a relationship end. It can feel like the whole world is against us, and it’s hard to see things getting better. But it’s important to remember that one bad day, month, or even year does not equal a bad life. We all have ups and downs, but those downs don’t define us. We are so much more than our worst moments, and things will eventually get better. So hang in there when things are tough- because better days are always ahead.
8. Adventure is out there.
Life is like an unsolved mystery, waiting to be explored. It is an adventure, full of twists and turns, ups and downs. There is no telling what might happen next. But that is what makes life so exciting. It is always changing, always keeping us guessing. Life is an adventure because it is constantly offering us new experiences.

We never know what new things we might learn or who we might meet along the way. Every day brings something different, and we never know what will happen tomorrow. The world is full of possibilities. You just have to go out and find them. You can explore new food, cultures, cities, countries, activities, lifestyles, or whatever piques your curiosity.
9. To find love.
Everyone deserves to be loved. It is a fundamental human need, after all. And yet, so many people go through life without ever really experiencing the love they deserve. They may have fleeting moments of happiness or companionship, but true, lasting love always seems to elude them.

But finding love is worth the wait. Because when you finally find that one person who loves you unconditionally, it makes all the heartache and pain worth it. Their love will fill up all the empty spaces inside of you and make you feel complete in a way you never thought possible. Their love will make you want to be a better person and help you to see the world in a whole new light.
And so, if you are feeling lost or alone right now, don’t give up hope. The love you are searching for is out there. And it is definitely worth fighting for.
10. To discover your untapped potential.
There is no feeling quite like discovering hidden talents and unused potential. It is a sudden realization that there is so much more to life than what we have been led to believe. It is a moment of pure joy and possibility. When we find our untapped potential, it gives us a reason to live. We suddenly have something to strive for, something to be excited about.
Our potential is a reminder that we are not limited by our past, and that we can always find new ways to grow and thrive. It lights the way toward a better future, one that is full of hope and possibility. So if you are ever feeling lost or uncertain, remember that your potential is waiting to be discovered. It is the reason why you should never give up on yourself or your dreams. Just keep moving forward, and you will find all the greatness that lies within you.
11. To inspire.
Every day, we all face challenges large and small. Some days, it can be hard to remember what we’re fighting for. On those days, it’s important to remember that every person has the power to make a difference in the lives of others. When we inspire others, we give them the strength to keep going even when they feel like they can’t. In return, they often do the same for us. In this way, inspiring others is one of the most important reasons to keep living.
Every day presents an opportunity to lift someone up and help them see the best in themselves. It may not always be easy, but it’s always worth it. So next time you’re feeling lost or down, remember that you have the power to change somebody’s life for the better. And that is a very good reason to keep going.
12. You are unique and amazing.
You are unique and amazing. There is nobody in the world quite like you, and that is something to celebrate. You have your own special talents, skills, and traits that make you who you are. And that is what makes life worth living – the chance to express your individuality and share your gifts with the world. So never doubt that you are valuable and deserving of all the good things life has to offer. Remember, you are one-of-a-kind.
13. You have dreams that need to be experienced.
Dreams give us something to hope for. They provide a reason to wake up in the morning and a reason to keep going when times are tough. Dreams can be as small as wanting to eat breakfast in peace or as big as wanting to travel the world. But no matter what our dreams may be, they give our lives purpose.
Seeing our dreams through to fruition is one of the most rewarding things we can do. It gives us a sense of accomplishment and pride that we can carry with us for the rest of our lives. So if you have a dream, don’t let it go unfulfilled. Chase it down and make it a reality. because at the end of the day, you’ll be glad you did.
My personal backstory

In the past, I’ve struggled with suicidal thoughts. It’s one of the worst feelings in the world to ever believe how low your mind can get. The feeling of being a bother to everyone. The feeling like you’re worthless. And that feeling of no one caring about you. I used to lay in bed staring at the ceiling for hours a day letting time pass by, hoping something magical would happen.
Like an angel would save me from my suffering. I believe the main reason I couldn’t quit life was that I would simulate in my head my family having to pull me down from the rope. Imagine how devastated they would be to see me. I realized how unfair it would be to put them through more pain than they already had to go through during this period of my life.
I would continue day by day and eventually felt the feeling wearing off as I searched for the reason for my depression. After I found the reason, I was able to take action to fix it.
Something to consider
No matter how dark the tunnel you’re in may be, there will always be light in the end. If you are in a bad mental health situation, then it’s important to work on it and do your best to improve it. A great way to improve your mental health is to improve yourself. A mental state like depression can be tough to break out of, but not impossible. When you work on improving your life, you’ll start to see positive changes.
This can include your health, mood, energy, or overall well-being. It’s important to understand that it’s really easy to stay depressed when you don’t have anything going on in your life. It would be like trying to vacuum a dirty room without clearing out all the things on the floor. I challenge you to improve your life while pairing it with working on your mental well-being. This is what helped me out of my depression and I hope it can help you too.
Final Thoughts
Despite the difficulties of life, there are many reasons to live. We may not always be able to control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to it. Life is full of hardships and heartache, but it is also full of love and laughter.
So, choose to live your life with intention and purpose. Find your reason to keep going when things get tough and never give up on yourself or your dreams.
